The Newly Updated Courier – Small Van Hire
If everyone’s needs were exactly the same there’d only be one sort of van and we’d have far less to write about. Thankfully though, the world is full of variety and the businesses taking advantage of our matchless van hire services are as diverse as the vehicles we’re proud to supply.
The very latest vans to arrive on our fleet are a root and branch update of a van with a very familiar name – The Ford Transit Courier, the smallest ‘proper’ van in Ford’s fleet and the most diminutive to bear the ‘Transit’ name. While the Courier has always been a small van, this time around, it’s distinctly larger than it’s ever been before. A Ford Courier has never before been large enough behind the bulkhead to be able to accommodate two Euro size pallets, but suprisingly, the 2024 Courier can swallow them whole thanks to the 25% larger loadspace and sensibly shaped cargo bay.
The Ford Transit Courier has been around for a while, sitting below even the Transit Connect as far as size is concerned. Despite the larger size, the Courier retains a small footprint. This is still a perfect City van, where tight streets and small spaces demand something altogether more nimble, but businesses needing more payload than you’d get in a typical car will find it an especially useful bit of kit, but distinctly less ‘van-like’ to drive.
The Very Latest 2024 Ford Transit Courier
All new for 2024, the latest Courier has been reimagined from the ground up and is an entirely new machine. Based on the same underpinnings as the phenomenally successful Ford Puma SUV, the 2024 Ford Transit Courier is the most car-like it’s ever been in terms of driving dynamics and up front the distinction between car and van is all but academic. (There’s even a Tourneo version of the Courier to blur the lines between car and van even more).
The design of the new Transit Courier is certainly contemporary. The current trend for vehicles, especially SUV’s to be slightly angular and boxy with an element of sculpting is reflected in the new Courier and Ford’s smallest van is well served in terms of both utility and aesthetics by its new design.
Behind the wheel, the instrument panel, like most new vehicles these days is a collection of large screens. Ford’s new Sync4 System is the driving force behind the touchscreen and infotainment system, with all the features and connectivity you’d expect from an up to the minute vehicle such as this.
While the standard spec’ is impressive in te 2024 Courier, we don’t buy bottom of the range for our van hire fleet. Our typical choice for all Ford Commercial vehicles is the ‘Limited’ specification, which means alloy wheels, metallic paint and a selection of the higher level bells and whistles. Add this to the already comprehensive selection of gizmos and and gadgets and you get a small rental van that’s huge on features and a worthy addition to any business’ fleet.
