The full size Range Rover is perhaps the ultimate go-to vehicle when it comes to a car which epitomises luxury, success and brand appeal. It’s a supreme example of pure, unadulterated opulence on wheels with nothing held back or compromised.
The original Range Rovers were large and supremely confident and competent off-roaders, which could drag farm equipment out of a bog just as easily as dragging young Tarquin to his piano lesson. These days, however, they’re far less likely to have to wade through anything deeper than a car park puddle, however, they still COULD keep going where the road ends and do so like pretty much nothing else would be able. You just probably wouldn’t!
Towards the top end of the specification scale is the Range Rover Autobiography, now in it’s 6th generation and representing, arguably, the ultimate luxury car and sure to turn the heads of our car hire, leasing and contract hire customers..
If you’re looking for the cheapest way to run a car, you’re probably not considering a Range Rover in the first place, but if making your company car budget go further, saving on BIK and saving a bit of tax elsewhere too is more your thing, then the Range Rover Autobiography PHEV is definitely worthy of your attention. Thanks to the plug-in hybrid system, this Range Rover means less cash needs to be sent to the tax man. Reduced C02 (as little as 16 g/km) and the capability of being plugged in means your tax bills wil be less, without driving a lesser car. In fact the PHEV Range Rover can, on paper, drive up to 75 miles without having to use a drop of petrol and can also recoup momentum and turn it into electricity so you can use it again. This gives the PHEV Range Rover a notional ‘official’ consumption figure of over 370 miles per gallon, which like all hybrids is likely to bear little resemblance to what you ‘actually’ get in the real world. Naturally it’ll be far more fuel efficient than a pure ICE Range Rover, but the PHEV is likely to be of interest to you only to keep your tax bill down and if you’re putting it through a business, contribute towards your company environmental performance.

It’s an interesting question. If a full size Range Rover is for you, the driving experience might well be a secondary concern. While you ‘might’ be driving it yourself, there’s every chance you have more important things to be doing with your time than driving (you have people for that) and instead it’s the passenger experience that you’re more interested in!
Either way though, the Range Rover Autobiography is the ultimate waft-mobile. Comfortable, effortless and supremely appointed, you’ll be the undisputed master of any bit of tarmac you happen to find yourself suspended aloft.
The luxury inside, is as you’d expect, next level. Super premium materials, peerless build quality and tastefully integrated technology greet you on entry and provide a level of comfort that’s almost matchless.
To go through the list of features, extras and luxuries would almost seem an embarrassment of wealth, but if you can think of a feature you’d desire, the Range Rover Autobiography has it and it’s implemented in the classiest way imaginable. Check out our gallery below for a taste of the features you’ll find in this incredible machine.
