BVRLA Annual Dinner

Westwood At The 2020 BVRLA Annual Dinner

Thursday the 5th of March was the date of this year’s BVRLA Annual Dinner, a red letter day on the calendar of anyone in the vehicle rental industry. Hosted and compered by the well known comedian  Omid Djalili in the Hilton Skybar in London and attended by around 750 of our industry’s best and brightest,  the evening sought to celebrate all that is good about the vehicle rental industry, to recognise the achievers within our ranks and also to highlight the members of the BVLRA as a force for good in the world. With issues of the environment very much in the news, the BVLRA Dinner served to highlight the positive changes we can make in the industry to contribute to reducing the effects of pollution, while balancing the interests of the motorists wishing to go about their daily lives without being subjected to unfair taxation and charges. Naturally, this also served to show that Westwood’s own multi million Pound investment into hybrid and electric cars which we committed to some ago, was exactly the right choice for our business, for our customers and for the planet too.

Over £10,000 Raised For Charity At The BVLRA Annual Dinner

Those of us in the automotive industry know that it can sometimes be a stressful life, but we also take care of our own. Throughout the event, guests generously contributed around £10,500 to the BEN charity, a not for profit organisation which provides emotional and financial support to current and former employees of the automotive industry. Helping the mental health, physical health and overall wellbeing of it’s beneficiaries. A very worthy cause, which naturally, was particularly poignant to all in attendance.

Our commitment To The BVLRA’s Values

The BVLRA (British Vehicle Leasing and Rental Association) is a leading association whose badge we’re proud to display here at Westwood. Established in 1967, the association, through its members, ensures that the highest standards of customer service, satisfaction, fairness and honesty are adhered to throughout our industry. Rental companies displaying the BVLRA badge have been thoroughly vetted for regulatory compliance and must strictly adhere to the BVLRA’s code of conduct. To demonstrate further how deeply held are these values, the BVLRA Annual Dinner was attended, on behalf of Westwood, by none other than our very own Managing Director himself, Chris Melling. Chris, a veteran of many a BVLRA Annual Dinner, spoke very highly of the event and described it as a great success for the BVLRA. He mentioned in particular how he very much enjoyed the opportunity to network with friends, colleagues and other BVLRA members and how the evening’s entertainment was especially enjoyable. As well as the free bar!   The Vehicle Rental and Leasing industry is always in a state of change, forever evolving. We look forward to working alongside our friends, colleagues and partners within the BVLRA to take the industry forward and deliver the very best vehicles, the very best service and the very best for the future! Truly vehicle services for everyone!
