Basic Salary: £35,000 – £45,000
OTE: £65,000 – £75,000 per annum Plus Profit Share, Company Car
We are seeking an experienced and highly successful Commercial Van & Car Sales Manager to lead the sales operation at our Bolton dealership. This is a key leadership role within a fast-paced, customer-focused business, requiring a driven individual with a proven track record of delivering results.
As Sales Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day performance of the Sales Department. You will inspire, guide and support a team of Sales Executives to ensure every customer receives an exceptional experience and that the department consistently maximises every opportunity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, motivate and support the Sales Executive team to achieve targets and deliver outstanding customer service.
- Manage all aspects of the sales operation, ensuring daily tasks and processes are completed to a high standard.
- Oversee stock control, including ordering, rotation, and stock audits.
- Provide used car & van valuations, undertake competitor analysis, and set accurate pricing strategies.
- Manage forecourt displays, vehicle presentation standards, and online/digital advertising.
- Oversee advertising and marketing for sales stock, ensuring maximum exposure and lead generation.
- Conduct second-facing to support the team and secure deals.
- Ensure strong understanding and application of finance products, leasing solutions, hire products, and underwriting requirements.
- Monitor margins, deal profitability, and departmental performance.
- Maintain excellent negotiation and closing skills to secure profitable business.
- Ensure customers receive exceptional aftercare and long-term support.
- Work collaboratively with all departments to maintain high operational standards.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Proven success as a Sales Manager or Senior Sales Executive within commercial van and/or car sales.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate, coach and drive a team.
- Excellent knowledge of finance products, leasing, hire products and vehicle underwriting.
- Strong commercial awareness with a focus on margin, pricing and profitability.
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- A conscientious team player committed to delivering outstanding customer service.
- Ability to analyse data, assess market trends, and adapt pricing or strategies accordingly.
