Maxus Deliver 9

Maxus Deliver 9 Van Hire Wigan

The first time you lay eyes on a Maxus Deliver 9, you’d be forgiven for double checking the badge in the grille. For many, the Maxus brand is a mite unfamiliar, but the shape of the van isn’t unfamiliar at all – it looks very much like there should be a blue oval on the front! Put all thoughts of Ford’s Transit out of your mind though, because, despite the resemblance to the Maxus Deliver 9, which we admit is more than superficial, there’s no shared heritage between the two. Both are available for van hire here at Westwood however!

That’s not to say that the Maxus Deliver 9 doesn’t have heritage you’d be familiar with though. In the same way the familiar British MG brand was acquired by a Chinese buyer and revived with some fresh new vehicles, the similarly British commercial vehicle brand LDV was bought by CHines firm SAIC. ‘Maxus’ was one of the van models bearing the LDV brand at the time. LDV faded away and SAIC chose to refresh the company but not the name old name by switching ‘Maxus’ from being a model, to the name of the new marque.

So, for all intents and purposes, Maxus and the Deliver 9 don’t actually have a great deal in common with LDV anymore other than a string of corporate acquisitions, but such is the modern world. What’s more important, is whether the van is any good or not and whether it offers good value. Short answer…. yes and yes.

Is The Maxus Deliver 9 A Good Van?

The Maxus Deliver 9, in some respects represents almost an alternative evolution of the commercial vehicle sector. Many modern vans try very hard (and quite often succeed) in making themselves as close as possible to cars in their levels of comfort, conveniences and features. This has, consequently, increased the prices of commercial vehicles simply because of the high end materials and high end features now found in modern vans.

Vans at their core are working vehicles though. You don’t drive them for pleasure, you drive them because you have a job to do, or, more often, they’re being driven by someone you pay to do a job for you. For fleet owners or those for whom vans are an essential part of their business, the cost of acquiring and running vans is a significant consideration and all else is secondary. If you can pay less for something that can do the same thing, then it’s a no-brainer.

Maxus have, ostensibly, pitched themselves straight at the needs of fleet operators in that the Deliver 9 is an exceptionally low cost van when compared to most of the established brands. When you can buy a van several thousands of Pounds cheaper than a similar sized equivalent, that saving hits your bottom line with a resounding thud! It’s no wonder the Deliver 9 has appeared out of almost nowhere and can now be spotted in ever increasing numbers on the roads. Fleet Managers can’t get enough of them!

Happily though, if you were thinking that Maxus vans are merely utilitarian boxes on wheels with scant regard for driver comfort, you’d be wrong. The Deliver 9 isn’t going to give you a back massage or treat your eyes to a fancy curved panoramic touchscreen, but it IS still very comfortable and has everything you need, or rather everything your drivers need, without being full of cutting edge tech to keep up with the toys from the BMW crowd. Have modern vans got too tech’ hungry? Maxus seems to suggest so!

Van Hire That’s Cheap WIthout Being Nasty!

Thanks to the low cost of the Maxus Deliver 9, the van rental cost is also very low and when combined with the usual savings and tax advantages inherent to hiring as opposed to buying, renting makes even more sense when it’s a Maxus!
