Local Kids Need Your Help – Wigan Youth Zone

Wigan Youth Zone make a huge difference to the lives of young people.

At Westwood Motor Group, as well as providing car and van hire services, we’re proud to lend our support to some of our favourite local community groups and charities in and around Wigan, Wigan Youth Zone being one of them.

Talk to anyone who’s used their services and they’ll tell you. Wigan Youth Zone helps them with their confidence, their happiness and their health.

Because they’re the experts. They understand the pressures on kids and young people today, and sometimes they’re the only support available for them. But they’re more than just a safety net, or a place to go to hang out. They’re active as anything, always doing new things that challenge and bring the best out of everyone who goes.

And they’re inclusive. Their doors are open to children from eight years old, through to teenagers, and up to young adults aged 21 (or up to 25 when they’re helping people with additional needs).

As for the staff who work there, they’re really special. You won’t find a more dedicated and switched-on team, with every one of them passionate about engaging with local youth.

But the facilities are just as top class, with a range of activities always available and genuinely helpful, practical life sessions.

The gym offers accessible fitness to everyone, with Personal Trainers available for anyone who wants one. There’s the Skate Park for if you ride a BMX or a scooter, and the Fight Club for boys and girls into boxing or martial arts. There’s a climbing wall and outdoor programme, a dance and performing arts area, and four all-weather multi-use pitches.

They offer plenty more on top, from music and media, to art, design and fashion. They really do cater for so much, which is what you need these days, when everyone’s interests have gotten so diverse.

There’s more serious stuff too. They inform the senior members about health, sex and other very important things – and when it’s time to think about entering the working world, they help you get a job, or earn qualifications.

You can’t overstate how great the work they do is, because not only is it of the highest quality, but they do it at one of the most important times of a young person’s life. They can change the entire course of a young person’s future. They just need the chance.

Wigan Youth Zone give so much to the local community, they deserve a little back.

The platform they give our youth deserves to keep on getting raised, and it needs all of us to lend a hand to keep pushing it higher and higher.

For local businesses, there’s no drawback to getting involved with Wigan Youth Zone. We’re Silver Patrons, as we supply them with three of our Westwood vans. We love knowing we’re helping the local community and, from a business perspective, we get our name and logo on show all the time.

You can help too. However you contribute, big or small, it can make all the difference.
