Ford Puma 75 Plate ST-Line X

When it comes to best selling vehicles with mass appeal, Ford have it down to a fine art. The latest model of the best selling Ford Puma is just the latest car in a long line of award winning, best selling mid-sized passenger vehicles, from house of the blue oval. Naturally, a car this popular is going to be on our car hire fleet!

Sharing a name and implied heritage (but not much else) with the original Puma, a hottish hatch based on the Fiesta, the current Puma is either a hatchback on stilts or a small SUV depending on how you look at it, but what’s not in dispute is that Ford have once again read the room, nailed the brief and given the masses a car that’s very much of the moment and with broad appeal. Unsurprisingly, it has consistently, year on year been the UK’s best selling car.

The Ford Puma is big enough for a family, relatively affordable, but with great driving dynamics, low running costs and plenty of creature comforts. It’s punchy, looks good and drives well. The Model T, The Escort and the Focus all managed this feat and were also rewarded with eager buyers. Hardly suprising from the brand which has also single handedly been defining light commercial vehicles for decades in the form of the ubiquitous Transit van. Ford know what they’re doing!

The Ford Puma is every bit a modern vehicle. Naturally it looks great, but today’s driver demands far more than good design. Cars these days have to be packed full of the latest technology.

There was once a time when a mere radio was a luxury option, when electric windows were flash and cruise control could only be found the most expensive executive cruisers. The latest advances in technology have moved on significantly however, and while the cutting edge latest technologies are still the domain of top end luxury brands, “latest tech” becomes everyday tech’ faster than it ever has before and the Ford Puma benefits from the kind of features and driver aids that only a couple of years ago would have been unthinkable for an affordable mid-size car with mass appeal.

The Updated Ford Puma looks VERY similar to the outgoing design on the outside. The inside, however is a different story with a radically different interior on the mid-life updated version. The new cabin benefits from a large, 12″ HD touchscreen and a new sleeker dash. Ford’s brilliant Sync4 infotainment system, brings the usual smartphone connectivity, satellite navigation and the car’s key systems all a few taps or voice commands away. All round parking sensors and a reverse camera help keep scuffed bumpers and kerbed alloys at bay, with radar assisted cruise control, lane keeping aids and plenty of other safety systems all combining to help the driver manoeuvre the Ford Puma through cities, country lanes and motorways with ease.

It’s easy to see why the Puma has been the UK’s best selling car for a few years and our latest arrivals are the best combination of of tech’ and spec’ – get in touch to find out how you could get behind the wheel of one of these terrific all-rounders!
