What Do You Need To Know About The 2025 Ford Transit Connect PHEV?
- Powertrain: The Transit Connect 250 L2 PHEV features a 1.5-liter EcoBoost petrol engine paired with an electric motor and a 19.6 kWh battery, delivering a combined output of 150 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. It uses a seven-speed automatic transmission.
- Electric Range: Offers a targeted electric-only range of up to 73 miles (118 km)WLTP, with real-world tests showing around 48 miles in urban conditions during cold weather. Warmer conditions and careful driving can improve this range.
- Fuel Economy: Official figures claim up to 586.3 mpg, but this is heavily dependent on regular charging. Without frequent charging, expect significantly lower efficiency, closer to petrol-engine performance.
- Load Capacity: The L2 (long wheelbase) model provides 3.7 cubic meters of load space, capable of accommodating two Euro pallets. Maximum payload is up to 741 kg, slightly lower than some diesel rivals due to the battery weight.
- Dimensions: Load length is approximately 2,150 mm, with a width of 1,628 mm. The L2 model includes dual sliding side doors for enhanced access.
- Towing Capacity: Can tow up to 1,500 kg.
- Drive Modes: Features four EV drive modes:
- EV Now: Electric-only driving, ideal for low-emission zones.
- EV Auto: Combines electric and petrol power as needed.
- EV Later: Preserves battery for later use.
- EV Reserve: Saves a user-defined battery level.
- Charging: Supports AC and DC fast charging. The FordPass app allows monitoring of battery levels, charging status, and scheduling.
- Performance: Offers brisk acceleration, particularly in urban settings, with light and accurate steering and a tight turning circle, making it ideal for city driving. The ride is refined, sharing underpinnings with the Volkswagen Golf, Skoda Octavia, and Audi TT.
