A Very Westwood Christmas Party
Have you had your festive work do yet? We have! As you’d expect when the Christmas party is a Westwood Christmas Party, it was the best Christmas party anywhere – that’s just how we do things!
After spending all year providing unrivaled customer service, the lowest prices and range-topping vehicles, all of which are the envy of our industry, it was the turn of the hardworking members of Team Westwood to receive a ‘free upgrade’ of their own – a night out of epic proportions without spending a single penny thanks to the generosity of our MD Chris Melling who very kindly covered the whole evening himself, including the bar bill. Thanks Chris!
The venue for our night of revelry was the simply spectacular event and function suites at The Village On The Green in opulent Aspull. If you’ve never visited this stunning venue, you’re missing out. The Village on The Green is a prestigious events venue catering to Wedding Receptions, business conferences, corporate catering and the like. Beautifully presented and tastefully decorated, this spectacular setting was the backdrop to our Westwood Christmas Party, with drinks, catering, entertainment and a talented vocalist making the evening one we’ll certainly all remember.
The night was, of course, the same evening as the fateful England vs. France World Cup Game, but thanks to the adjoining sports bar, part of the venue, many of our number got to watch this game surrounded by our colleagues and rubbing shoulders with former International player and manager the incomparable Peter Reid himself. Not that we’re short of footballing talent here at Westwood Motor Group – our very own silver haired Latics legend Barry Knowles managed to gather his own crowd of admirers during the party!
The England result didn’t dampen our spirits and once the game was over, the main function room filled as if by magic and a terrific time was had by all. There was drinking, eating, singing (to a greater or lesser degree) and dancing too as we all partied into the small hours like the following day wouldn’t involve paracetamol!
A Team Westwood Christmas Party is always going to be tremendous fun and with it being the first big night out as a team since lockdown, it was a fantastic opportunity to spend some quality time with one another and really enjoy ourselves. Our thanks go to Chris for so kindly leaving us no limit on a potentially ruinous bar tab and making sure we all got home safely. Thanks also to our Finance Director Laura who organised the event for us all. Our thanks go as well to the team at the Village On The Green for being such excellent hosts. Finally thanks to all our good friends, customers, suppliers and others who’ve helped to give us a year we can truly celebrate despite the prevailing circumstances.
